Stage III – Advanced

Instructor Training Program (ITP)

This stage includes one prerequisite activity (Stage 2) that must be completed and evidenced prior to entering this component of the instructor training program. This stage also includes four mandatory activities that must be completed successfully before an instructor trainee may proceed to Continuing Education (“CPE”), which is further detailed below. In addition, requirements and anticipated time-frames are described below and should be referenced by each instructor trainee when scheduling or considering Stage 3 activities.

Group Seminar

Trainee must schedule and complete group seminar with a focus on learning, understanding, performing and teaching selected exercises.
One group seminar must be completed with an authorized Romana’s Pilates ITP trainer.
ITP trainer must possess a Level I instructor rating.
ITP trainer’s instructor rating must be valid during the timeframe in which these activities were completed.
ITP trainer must attest that Group Seminar requirement has been fulfilled.
Activity completed during a 2 – 5 month time frame from the point in time in which Stage 3 activities were initiated.

Independent Study

Trainee must observe Pilates instruction and compile notes regarding instructional methods and techniques.
Independent Study must be completed under the direct supervision of an authorized Romana’s Pilates ITP trainer.
ITP trainer must possess a Level I, II, III or IV instructor rating.
ITP trainer’s instructor rating must be valid during the timeframe in which these activities were completed.
ITP trainer must attest that Independent Study completion requirement has been fulfilled.
200 – 300 hours of observation; activity completed during a 2 – 5 month time frame from the point in time in which Stage 2 activities were initiated.

Private Lessons

Trainee must schedule and complete individual lessons with a focus on learning, understanding, performing and teaching selected exercises.
Five individual lessons must be completed with an authorized Romana’s Pilates ITP trainer.
ITP trainer must possess a Level I, II or III instructor rating.
ITP trainer’s instructor rating must be valid during the timeframe in which these activities were completed.
ITP trainer must attest that Individual Lesson requirement has fulfilled.
Activity completed during a 2 – 5 month time frame from the point in time in which Stage 3 activities were initiated.

Stage Assessment

Trainee must schedule and complete Stage 3 assessment with a focus on competency and prowess for teaching and administering selected exercises.
Trainee assessment must be completed with an authorized Romana’s Pilates ITP trainer.
ITP trainer must possess a Level I instructor rating.
ITP trainer’s instructor rating must be valid during the timeframe in which these activities were completed.
ITP trainer must attest that Trainee Assessment requirement has been fulfilled.
Activity completed during a 1 – 3 month time frame from the point in time in which all other Stage 3 activities were completed.
